JAMES (JIM) EARL LOUNSBURY

March25, 1933 - January 15, 2026

Jim was born and raised on a farm in Ochre River, Manitoba. He was the eldest of seven children: Marion (deceased), Allan (deceased), Vera, Evelyn, Bruce, and Barry.

In 1954, Jim joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), serving until his retirement in 1978 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. His postings took him to Saskatoon, Craik, back to Saskatoon, and later to Rosetown, Colonsay, Swift Current, Moosomin, and Meadow Lake. After retiring from the RCMP, he worked for 16 years as a Judicial Officer with the Justice Department of the Government of Saskatchewan.

On July 3, 1959, Jim married Marian Christina Helen Donaldson of Davidson, Saskatchewan. Together, they raised three children: • Kevin (wife Deb; grandchildren Kohl and Paige) • Heather Stamler (husband Greg; grandchildren Bretton (wife Maura) and Koryn (husband Brendan); great-grandchildren Olivia, Sullivan, Parker, and Merritt) • Janice Klassen (husband Laurie; grandchildren Katelyn (husband Jay), Mitch (wife Jayden), Justin, and Abby; great-grandchildren Zion, Carmen, Edith, and Maisie).

Jim and Marian moved from Meadow Lake to Saskatoon in 2018. Following a prolonged hospitalization due to complications from a fall in December 2025, Jim passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026.

Jim will be remembered for his integrity, his dedication to doing what was right, and his belief that others - especially his family - should do the same. He had a remarkable ability to engage others in conversation and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. He enjoyed golfing, berry picking, and gardening - often spending countless hours outdoors at home and at his beloved Kimball Lake cabin with family. His presence will be dearly missed, but the influence of his example will remain. His was a life well lived, and he will be forever in the hearts of his family.

A Celebration of Life will occur May 23,2026, 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Saskatoon Funeral Home (338 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon)
