Jane Cole

January 2, 1958 — December 1, 2024

Jane Cole (née Wiebe) passed away peacefully at her home in Langham, SK on December 1, 2024. Jane was the third of four daughters born and raised in Saskatoon, spending her childhood summers at Manitou Beach, walking to Russ's Stables to feed and groom the horses in exchange for being allowed to ride them down the beach. Jane was the Queen Elizabeth tetherball champ and part of the Maple Street squad.

As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Jane was many things to many people but everyone knew her for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She loved a good, clean joke and spoke fluent sarcasm.

Jane spent her summers at Atton's Lake with her golf buddy, best friend, and husband of 44 years, Larry. Although she was an avid golfer, she was too humble to brag about getting two holes in one on the sixth and seventh at Atton's Lake Golf Course. The lake was her weekend sanctuary where she would garden, feed the birds and squirrels, and curl up by the campfire.

A long time employee of RBC, she was a people person and made friends with clients and co-workers alike.

Jane took particular pride in her grandchildren, Oliver and Evie. She will also be deeply missed by her soulmate, Larry; her daughters, Jolene Shif (Boris) and Erin Cole; her mother, Helen Polny; her sisters, Linda Craik (Bill), Diana Weinacker, and Cathy Molnar (Dave); her brothers by marriage, Merv, Howie (Joanne), and Glenn (Loraine) Cole; and many relatives and dear friends too numerous to list. She was predeceased by her stepfather, John Polny; her sister-in-law, Caryl Lee Cole; and her brother-in-law, Roland Weinacker.

Jane lived fully and loved deeply. As such, there will be a Celebration of Life in the spring, the season of renewal. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
