Janet Lucille (nee Fraser) Carr passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her family by her side on September 29 th , 2022.

Mom was born May 24 th , 1933 at Midnight Lake , SK to Dorothy and Cameron Fraser.  After losing their mom, her family moved to Edam , SK were she grew up and met the love of her life, William Carr.  They were married September 7 th , 1951 and moved to Saskatoon .  During this time they started their family and with seven children in tow, they moved to Merid , SK and had two more children and raised their family.

In 1987 Dad retired and Mom and Dad moved to Saskatoon , where they remained.

Mom was a busy lady, who had a passion for life and her family.  She was always smiling, had tea ready to go, and had an open door policy for everyone.  She truly loved her life.  She loved holidaying with her family, exploring many places.  She loved sewing, curling and going ghost hunting with her sisters.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing her own book about how her family came from Nova Scotia to Homestead in Saskatchewan .  She also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially bread, cinnamon rolls and baking powder biscuits.

She especially loved to dance with dad!

Janet is survived by her children: William (Noreen), Robert (Shirley), Dorothy (Dave) Curtiss, Lawrence (Monica), Janice (Tony) Dollimont, Fraser, David, Andrew (Tori) and Ian; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.  As well as her “Bonus” daughters (Susan, Jennifer & Kathy), bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was the last of her family and became everyone’s adoptive mom, sister, aunty, grandma and friend.  She was loved by so many people and she knew it.

Mom’s Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 5 th at 1:00 p.m. from Mount Royal Emmanuel United Church ( 521 Vancouver Avenue N. )  Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens .  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.

Thank you to the staff at St. Paul ’s Hospital who took compassionate care of mom during her final days.
