On Saturday, December 3 rd , we unexpectedly lost the most amazing mother (mommy), sister, Grammie, and friend, Jeanette Fedrau.
Jeanette was loved and cherished by daughters Angellah (Jim) Brayshaw, Darlene (John) Schultz, Treena Fedrau and siblings June Fedrau (Rick Boire), Janet (Randy) Boehm, and Lloyd Fedrau (Sheila Baier). She adored her six grandchildren, Cassidy (fiancée Sarah Hoppe) and Oliver Brayshaw, Emma and Molly Schultz, and Tyler and Mathew Friesen. Jeanette was pre-deceased by her loving partner Earl Hanson, son, Kevin Friesen, and infant daughter, Cheryl. Jeanette was loved and adored by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
On July 25, 1946, Jeanette was born the first of five children in Rosthern, SK., to John and Sadie Fedrau. Her first few years were spent on the family farm near Osler before moving to Hague. Throughout her years of school Jeanette had a very active social life enjoying friends, sports, curling, baseball, and playing the piano with gusto!
By far, the most important thing to Jeanette was her children and family. When mom spent time with family she made every time a special occasion. Mom loved and excelled in cooking, baking, writing poetry, gardening, and known to be a lover of all flowers. She was an avid reader all her life and passed that love down to her children and grandchildren.
Our beautiful mother loved to laugh, have fun, and was most happy when everyone else was happy too. Auntie Jean was known for her generosity, kindness, and smarties! Of her many superpowers, one that rises to the top is her ability to maintain a pristine home and garden under any condition. Mom was the essence of Christmas and how appropriate it was December 24, 1985, when she met the man of her dreams, Earl Hanson. From there they built a beautiful life together for over 34 years, sharing their love of family, gardening, concerts, watching sports, and spending time together.
We are sustained by her strength, resilience, and desire to find joy after suffering the terrible of loss of her beloved Earl in February 2020. Mom is a true role model for us all. This past year mom moved into her new home and began to fully embrace life again. She was so excited about Christmas this year and began planning and preparing early November and was eager to begin Christmas baking. Mom’s life ended far too soon, and we will miss her always. Our only consolation is that she is now with her son Kevin, infant daughter Cheryl, and her best friend and darling Earl.
Special thanks to her “little helpers”, sister June Fedrau and daughter Treena Fedrau.
In lieu of flowers, please take time to go out of your way to do something to make someone happy.
