Joan Colter Schock

In Loving Memory

Joan Schock of Saskatoon, SK left us peacefully from St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Monday Sept 14, 2026 at the age of 91 years old. She is now free of pain and resting in Gods Garden. Joan is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, her sister and brother in law as well as other precious family members and friends.

Mom was born in Saskatoon on June 6,1935 and was raised in Sutherland until the age of nine when she moved to Caswell Hill. It was there that she made life long friends while attending Caswell School and Bedford Road Collegiate . She later graduated from Saskatoon Business College.

Mom married dad April 21,1956 and together they built a life filled with family, friends and community. They were blessed with 4 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought them so much joy throughout the years. She cherished family gatherings  and her friends and neighbors were also a special and important part of both her and dads lives. 

Over the years mom held several jobs before beginning a long and fulfilling career with the City of Saskatoon where she worked for just over 23 years. Mom was deeply involved in her community .  She was a dedicated member of Girl Guides of Canada where she volunteered as a leader and helped empower and inspire young girls. She was also an active part of her Lutheran Church community for many years . Mom not only loved to sing in church but was a member of the Orpheus Choir in Saskatoon. Shortly after dad passed away mom retired and moved in to condo living . She quickly became very active with the condo association serving as president for a number years. Throughout this involvement she made many wonderful friends and created memories that she treasured. 

Mom will be remembered by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.

Interment of Joan's cremated remains will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery Saskatoon, SK with a graveside service for family only.
