John Joseph Franz

John passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on August 21, 2025 in Saskatoon at the age of 60. Born in Leader, SK to Louis & Margaret Franz, he grew up in Richmound. He graduated from Saskatchewan Technical School in Moose Jaw and was employed by SED Systems in Saskatoon. In June 1991, while on a weekend camping trip with friends, John had an unfortunate accident that left him with paraplegia. But living life in a wheelchair didn't stop John - he continued his job, bought a house & made Saskatoon his home.

John was predeceased by his Father Louis (Nov 1988) and his sister Louise Marie who died in infancy. He is survived by his mother Margaret Franz, his brothers George (Ramona), Dennis, David (Ev), Robert, Michael (Stephanie), his sister Margaret Rose Harrigan (Louis), his nephews Jarrett, Lindsey (Ali), Robert (Krystal) & David as well as 3 great-nieces & 3 great-nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 Fourth Avenue North, Saskatoon.
