We are sad to announce that Ken Hogg (Hogger) passed away on June 6th from Alzheimers with the assistance of MAID.
Ken leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Deb, his brother and sister-in-law Phil and Jill, his two nephews Tanis (Randi) and Cory (Michi). Also loved by his great nieces and nephews Liam, Evan, Seydi and Lucy Hogg, and two cousins Jim (Sandi) Reed and Wendy Robinson. He adored his cat Ruby and his dog Lizzie and they brought him many hours of joy and cuddles. Also loved by our family by choice, the Wilsons, Myrna, Candace (Tim) and Logan (Heather) and their families. He also leaves behind Debs family, Ron (Eleanor), Gord, Bill, Gerri and Marlene and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was born and raised in Sutherland, and lived a good part of his life in Sutherland/Saskatoon. He enjoyed many years at the cabin they built in 1996 at Big Shell Lake. He was a journeyman electrician and for most of his career worked at the U of S. He played hockey for many years in the Old Timers League and loved golfing with his golf buddies at the Willows, Memorial Lake and then Wildwood.
Alzheimers is a particularly difficult journey and Ken was loved and supported through it all by our wonderful friends and family and we are so grateful for every one of them. Special thanks to Dr. Slavik and Dr. Kirk for their compassionate care.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Wednesday, June 11th, at 2:00 pm at The Glen at Crossmount, 10 Glen Road, Crossmount, SK. Dress casual and comfortable, wear your sports jersey if you have one. Bonus points if it's a Boston Bruins jersey!
If you wish to make a donation in Ken's memory, please donate to the Saskatchewan Alzheimers Society, 1630 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V7.
