Lance Karkut

August 14, 1955 — January 23, 2025

Lance Karkut of Saskatoon, suddenly passed away very peacefully at the age of 69. He leaves behind his sister and best friend Karen Karkut who will forever miss him.

Lance was born on August 14, 1955, in Ituna, SK, to Nick and Adelle Karkut.

He attended school in Ituna until grade 12. He moved to Saskatoon in 1973, working in various jobs until he and his sister Karen bought a barber/hairdressing business in 1978. Lancelot's of Canada Hairdressers was in business for 36 years, serving many beautiful people, with lasting relationships.

Lance was a 50-year member of St. Paul's Co-Cathedral, serving for many years. He was very proud of that. The Kinsmen Club was also a very important part of his life for years, meeting many great people and serving his community. The pilgrimage in Rama on August 14th/15th where Lance spent 65+ birthdays, and spending time at the farmhouse in Ituna were also very important to him. Lance's sister Karen was also a big part of his life.

Lance was a very gentle, thoughtful and kind man. He also had a great love for fine tea and good coffee. He loved to cook and entertain in the finest. He was the best dancer, loved music and to sing. He was a collector of art, antiques and collectables. Lance had a keen eye for color, proportion and balance and was an excellent tailor. His recollection of dates, time and events was outstanding. Traveling and shopping were Lance's passion! If you couldn't find something, he would.

Those who knew him, will always remember him. His Parkinson's Disease did not stop him from living a very full and happy life.

His very happy places now were the farmhouse, his downstairs Polynesian room and vacations the last number of years in Hawaii. Aloha!

Lance is predeceased by his parents Nick and Adelle Karkut and is survived by his sister Karen and many friends and family. He is now with the Lord. Peace be with him.
