Surrounded by his loving family, Lawrence Gallucci passed away at the age of 90 after a long and courageous journey with cancer.

Lawrence shared 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janet Gallucci. Together they built a warm and welcoming home and raised a family he cherished deeply. He was the proud father of Kim, Tania and Tracy; grandfather to Joel, Madison, Jodey, Maya and Ella; and great grandfather to Liam, Kensie, Olivia and Lennon.

Some of Lawrence’s happiest moments were spent with his family at their Candle Lake cabin or gathered for holidays. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him, including dear friends who appreciated his quick wit, natural curiosity and enthusiasm for a good conversation about sports and politics.

Born in Biggar, Saskatchewan, Lawrence was the only child of Joseph and Josephine Gallucci. As a child, he enjoyed many sports, received formal piano training and developed a life-long fascination with mechanical work, automobiles and aviation.

After graduating high school, Lawrence moved to Saskatoon to attend Saskatoon Business College, where he earned his Business Administration Certificate and met Janet.

Lawrence’s professional life spanned road construction, meat processing and uranium mining. He began his career with Evans Road Construction, with Janet joining him on the road as they traveled together throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. He retired at 65, though he would have gladly continued longer, concluding his career at Cameco as a fly-in/fly-out warehouse clerk at the Key Lake uranium mine. Lawrence valued his work and the friendships he formed along the way. He was admired for his tireless work ethic, loyalty, and dedication to both his company and the Steelworkers of America, where he served as Treasurer for many years.

In retirement, Lawrence remained committed to advocacy and community through SOAR, the Steelworkers of America Retirement Group, where he played a meaningful role in securing extended health benefits for retired steelworkers - an accomplishment for which he took great pride.

Lawrence loved the outdoors and could often be found tending to their garden, caring for the cabin or spending time in the backyard with the family’s beloved dog, Tiger. He was devoted to his children and ensured they were always supported. His passion for automobiles and air shows remained with him throughout his life.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Lawrence’s cancer team and the staff in palliative care at St. Paul’s Hospital for their kindness, compassion and exceptional support.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service for Lawrence at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Avenue North, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. A small luncheon will follow.
