Harry LESLIE Bryan

Leslie was born on the Colonsay family farm November 21, 1929 to Harry and Elva and passed away October 14, 2021 in Saskatoon.  He was the youngest of the family with three brothers, and one sister.

Les is survived by his wife, June; son, Alan (Bev) Garner; daughter Linda (Gary) Lawrence; grandchildren Jennifer (Geoff) Bingham; Carol (Colin Pratt); John (Lauren) Garner; Andrea (Francis) Waterhouse; Mark Lawrence (Amber Shuttleworth); 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his parents Harry & Elva; father and mother-in-law Ron and Joy Firth; his brother Wilfrid & wife Evelyn; infant brother, George; brother Ray & wife Betty;  sister Edith & husband Ross Hoshal; brother-in-law Brian Firth and wife Winnie; and grand daughter-in-law Denae Lawrence.

In 1946 he began farming full time with his Dad. He met June Firth, through a blind date.  They married October 23, 1954 and settled on the family farm.

Les was very active in the community.  He was a member of the Colonsay United Church, served on the local Board, Board of Stewards and Session, a lifetime member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, held offices with Grand Lodge of SK, served on the local Co-op board, was Chairman of the Apache District Boy Scouts Assoc and Group Committee and a 4-H leader.  Les drove school bus for many years and also worked four years at the Colonsay Potash Mine.

He was proud Alan shared his love of farming and they worked together for many years. Les loved spending time with family, fishing, camping, curling, travelling and downhill skiing.  They loved Sunday drives to check crops and visit friends and neighbours.  Being a good neighbour was important to Les.  He especially treasured the friendship of the Buyck, McVicar and Fitzsimmon families. He always appreciated their help and support.  Les was very personable and friendly individual and made friends wherever he went.

May 2015 Les and June moved to Preston Park II in Saskatoon and enjoyed 6 years there until declining health forced Les to move to Porteous Lodge and June to a private care home.
