Leslie Margaret Jean Sanders

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Leslie Sanders (née Henry) on March 16, 2026. Leslie was born in 1952 and was raised on the farm outside of Oak River, Manitoba. She was the youngest of three children.

Leslie attended the University of Manitoba and graduated with a Bachelor of Home Economics. After a brief teaching career in Manitoba, she moved to Saskatoon, where she met the love of her life, Ralph. Leslie welcomed the opportunity to raise a family where she nurtured a strong, loving homelife which still exists today.

Leslie was always interested in people and had a gift for welcoming and including others. She was a very creative person as evidenced by her flower-arranging, wreath creations, her sewing, her food, and her home. Her spirit lives on through the knowledge she passed down so generously to various organizations and individuals.

She is survived by her husband Ralph; her children Andrew (Zoë) and Katherine (Riley); and her grandchildren Elizabeth and Ethan. As well as her sister Lynn(Don); her sister-in-law Denise; her brother-in-law Bob; and many nieces and nephews. Leslie was predeceased by her parents Stan and Jean Henry, and her brother Cameron.

Leslie was diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2024 and spent the past years making lasting memories and reminiscing with family and loved ones. Ultimately, she chose to end the battle on her terms with the assistance of MAID. We would like to express our deepest thanks to the entire team at the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, especially Dr. Zaidi, Emily Perry, and Dr. Ddamba.

The family is having an informal gathering on May 2, 2026 from 2pm-4pm, as a come-and-go, at the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Lung Health Foundation https://lunghealth.ca/ or a charity of your choosing.
