Lillian passed away peacefully at Sherbrooke Community Centre, Saskatoon. She is survived
by her four daughters: Beverly (Gordon Nagus), Kathy (Walter Neufeld), Dianne,
Rhonda (Ian McGee). Grandson Michael Nagus (Poonam), their boys Carter and Ashton.
Grandson Kirk Nagus(Renee), children Leo and Cari. She was predeceased by her
husband Lorne, and all her siblings.
Lillian was the seventh of nine children born to Earnest and Margaret Goodfellow in the
Carruthers district. After high school she attended Normal School in Saskatoon, and
obtained her teaching certificate. She taught for a few years, before marrying
Lorne (Tony) Peterson. They resided in Carruthers, where they farmed and operated
the telephone office. In 1967 they moved to the farm in Lilydale.
Full time farm life kept her busy, but she managed to find time to sew clothes for the
Girls (later her grandsons), and kept a huge garden. Lillian was known for her baking
(especially her buns), her garden and flowers. After the girls left home, she had more
time to socialize, contribute to community events and to travel.
In 2017, five years after the death of her husband, Lillian moved to Saskatoon to be
closer to her daughters. She resided at Luther Riverside Terrace where she made new
friends and became part of that community.
Lillian touched many lives in the 95+ years she was with us, her family and all her
friends will have special moments to remember. A celebration of Lillian’s life will take
place in the spring of 2026.
Arrangements entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home, 306-244-5577.
