Lloyd Campbell
(March 9, 1948 - July 22, 2024)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lloyd Campbell at his home in Saskatoon on July 22, 2024.
Lloyd was born on March 9, 1948 to Malcolm and Eleanor Campbell in Elrose, SK. He spent his younger years in Bethune and Saskatoon before joining the Navy in 1966. Several years later Lloyd returned to Saskatoon where he met his wife, Leona. They were married in 1969 and Lloyd remained a devoted husband for 54 years.
Lloyd was a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic and spent much of his working life in Northern Saskatchewan, a place he loved. Lloyd retired from Cameco after many years of service at the Key Lake mine. He retired as the Mine Maintenance General Foreman. Lloyd continued in the mining industry for several more years in Beaumont, Alberta before returning to Saskatoon in 2006 for his retirement.
Lloyd was a hardworking family man who was a friend to all. He was a loving father to Kelly (Marla) and Heather and a proud grandfather to Tyson and Taylor. He loved spending time with family and friends and frequent trips to Mexico with Leona. Lloyd was happiest at his cabin at Weyakwin, surrounded by his family and many friends.
Lloyd will be dearly missed by his family, friends and loving wife Leona. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation for the outpouring of love they received following Lloyd's passing.
A service to celebrate Lloyd's life will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 beginning at 1:00 pm at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4th Ave. North.
