Lorna Gutsch

Lorna Gutsch, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024 at the age of 79. Born in Dauphin MB in 1944 Lorna was a remarkable woman whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she met.

Lorna was known for her unwavering dedication to her husband, family and boundless compassion for others. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Herb, daughter Aleta, son Alan (Kristie, Hailie), sisters Olive Rynsburger (Jack), Linda Kelbert (Wilf), Joyce Dueck (Henry), along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply.

Lorna's life was a testament to love, strength, and generosity, qualities that she embodied in everything she did.

Throughout her life, Lorna was always willing to get involved whether it be the Royal Purple, curling teams, bowling teams, organizer and volunteer in the Asquith seniors Center and as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. After nursing for 37 years, she volunteered as a first responder in the Asquith area for an additional 30 years. In all these places she made countless friends and contributed significantly to her community, her country and her world. Her passion for her friends in Asquith brought joy to many and left a lasting impact.

A memorial service will be held to honor Lorna's life on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Asquith Baptist Church beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a Reception to follow at the Senior Citizen's Centre.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate her life and share their memories. I lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Center in Lorna's name.

Lorna's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the remarkable person she was.
