Today, we gather to honor the life of a remarkable man, Lorne Kenneth Fehr, whose unexpected passing on August 14, 2025, has left a profound impact on all who knew him.
He will missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Judy and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Ruth (Ron) Bell, Shane (Courtney), Chelsey (Dale) and Ryker; Lynda (Brad) Ellis, Mikhayla and Kohlton; Ronald (Joyce) Ginther, Logan (Monica), Cole (Alex), Drew; Terence (Corinne) Ginther, Spencer, Taylor, Aidan, Adrienne, Josh; Teresa (Scott) Tataryn, Kyin and Kage
Born on October 15, 1940, Lorne lived a full and vibrant 84 years, embodying kindness, camaraderie, and a spirit that touched the lives of many.
Lorne was born to Cornelius and Mary Fehr in Aberdeen, Saskatchewan. His journey began with a sense of adventure as he joined the Air Force just before turning 18. He often reminisced about his time in Biloxi, Mississippi, where he formed lasting friendships and embraced new experiences.
His professional life was spent with Transport Canada, serving as an area manager for Saskatchewan and the High Arctic. Throughout his career, he maintained close ties with his colleagues, affectionately known as the ‘AOF’. Their regular gatherings at Fuddruckers were a testament to the bonds he cherished.
On May 9, 1992, Lorne married the love of his life, welcoming not only a partner but also an instant family of five children, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter. This union enriched his life immeasurably.
After retiring in 1995, his time was highlighted by spending time with his grandchildren, nurturing their interests and being their steadfast supporter. He loved sports, especially baseball, hockey, and football. He found joy in simple pleasures, like taking drives through the countryside, appreciating the beauty of the world around him. Most recently, he enjoyed playing pool and appreciating the companionship of friends at Parkville Manor.
Lorne had a sharp wit, sense of humour and a kind heart, qualities that endeared him to many.
As we remember Lorne today, let us celebrate a life well-lived, marked by dignity and respect. His legacy of kindness will forever remain in our hearts, and we are grateful for the moments we shared with him. May he rest in peace.
