Lorne passed away peacefully in hospital with his wife, Brenda, and his daughter, Jillian, at his side.
Lorne Christopher Vinish was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan on September 6, 1957 to Andrew and Mary Vinish. His family moved to Saskatoon, where he grew up attending St. Joseph's Elementary School and Nutana Collegiate. He convocated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1979.
Lorne had a variety of employment opportunities in the business, investment, and economic world. He was especially proud of being the Vice President of Business Services at Innovation Place, a position he held until he retired. He made many lifelong friendships and connections while working there.
Lorne loved sports, especially golf. He was an avid reader and a proud Minnesota Vikings and Montreal Canadiens fan. Lorne had a wealth of knowledge and loved to share interesting trivia facts.
Lorne is predeceased by his father, Andrew Vinish, and his sister-in-law, Diane Vinish. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda (nee Parno), his daughter, Jillian, his son-in-law, Mark, and the love of his life, his granddaughter, Emma. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Vinish, his brothers, Lyle Vinish and Lloyd Vinish (Alyson), his sister, Suzanne Keen (Brent), and his nephew, Alex Keen (Cailee).
There will be no funeral, as requested by Lorne.
A very special thanks to the medical team at Royal University Hospital, who took great care of Lorne until he passed.
Lorne had some very favourite sayings that we will cherish: "Golf safe!" and "You can never have too many books."
We will miss Lorne greatly and will remember all the good times, love, and laughs we shared.
