It is with unbearable sadness we have to announce the passing of Lorrie Gail Olm at the age of 70. She fought with bravery and determination, with her loving family by her side until the end. Lorrie was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend. Above all else family was everything to her, and the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Lorrie is survived by her loving husband, Dale; daughters, Kristie (Chris) Pearton and April (Jerry) Penner; son, Steven (Jonelle) Olm; grandchildren, Aliyah, Drew, Blake, Luke, Kael, Parker, Mac, Kalen and Maddax; sisters, Jean (Herb) Cross, Rose (Ken) Ward, Marianne (Ray) Miller, Violet (Scott) Taylor and Vicky (John) Stelmaszak; brothers, Terry Braun, Rob Braun (Loretta), and Gord Braun; sisters-in-law, Grace (John) MacPherson, Caroline Olm (Ken Shaw) and Colleen Braun; brothers-in-law, Larry Olm and Grant (Tamara) Olm; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends; mom especially shared a special bond with her nieces Cheryl Raugust and Julie Lawson.
Lorrie is predeceased by; her infant brother, Matthew Braun; parents, Henry and Sadie Braun and Edwin and Lena Olm; brothers, Ron Braun, George Braun and Ken Braun; sister, Ferne Ward; brother-in-law, Harvey Olm; sister-in-law, Colleen Olm; and nephew, Bryan Cross.
In 1976, Lorrie married the love of her life, Dale and this December they would have shared their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Together, they began building a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. They spent their first 30 years together in Churchbridge, SK., where they raised their 3 children. In 2006, they moved to Osler, SK., continuing their journey together and creating a lifetime of memories with the family they cherished so deeply.
Lorrie absolutely treasured every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy. She had a beautiful love for country gospel music and never hesitated to turn it up as loud as possible. Music was a part of her soul, whether she was playing the organ or autoharp with all her heart or dancing and singing along with the people she loved. Some of her happiest moments were singing "You Are My Sunshine" while her grandkids sat beside her on the organ bench. These simple, precious moments will forever be treasured by those who shared them with her.
Life was not always easy, and Lorrie faced her share of difficult challenges. Yet she met every obstacle with remarkable strength, determination, and grace. Through it all, she remained a source of love, comfort, and inspiration to those around her.
To her children, she was a loving and devoted mother. To her grandchildren, she was their biggest hero, their inspiration, and a source of unconditional love. To her husband, she was a lifelong partner and the love of his life. To her family and friends, she was someone whose presence made life brighter, whose laughter was unforgettable, and whose love will never be replaced.
Although our hearts are broken by her passing, we take comfort in the memories she leaves behind, the lessons she taught us, and the love she gave so generously. Her music, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on through each of us.
Lorrie's life was a beautiful reminder that the greatest legacy we leave behind is the love we share. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
