Margaret Jane “Peggy” Galvin

(nee Dickson)

Peggy passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on October 15, 2023 at Stensrud Lodge.

She was born on April 21 ^st , 1927 at Chaplin, SK.  At the age of 14 she began working evenings and weekends in the local telephone office.  After completing high school she moved to Canora, SK to work for Saskatchewan Government Telephones (now known as SASKTEL).  There she met and married Raymond Galvin in 1951.  They remained in Canora until transferring to Saskatoon in 1971.  Peggy continued to work for SASKTEL in Saskatoon until retirement in 1986.  She was a Past Matron of Canora Chapter #63 Order of the Eastern Star.

Upon retirement winters were spent in Texas, Hawaii and Arizona.  Summers were spent at their cabin at Crystal Lake, SK.

Peggy is survived by her daughter Sheila Galvin and beloved granddaughter Kathleen Rae and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her father Laurence in 1933; her mother Margaret in 1976; her brother Robert in 1986 and her husband Raymond in 2011.

As per Peggy’s request there will be no funeral service.  Her cremains will be interred at St. John’s Columbarium in Saskatoon along with Raymond’s.
