Lenore Tekanoff

Lenore (Margaret) Tekanoff (née Nichvolodoff) passed away suddenly on August 8, 2026, at the age of 88.

Lenore was born on December 12, 1937, and grew up in the Krydor/Blaine Lake area of Saskatchewan. After high school, she married Allan Tekanoff in November 1955 in Prince Albert, and the two settled in Saskatoon. In 1962, Lenore began working at the Hudson's Bay Company, the same year Allan joined the Saskatoon Fire Department. She spent approximately 47 years with the Hudson's Bay in Saskatoon, one of its longest-serving employees and a familiar, beloved face to generations of customers, receiving numerous awards and commendations along the way.

She was predeceased by her husband, Allan (2017); her brothers Robert (1964) and Harvey (Debbie) (2026); and her parents, Olive and Sam, in the early 2000s.

Lenore is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Reese Tekanoff (Helen Siemens) of Saskatoon and Rory Tekanoff (Elata Kessous) of Montreal; her three grandchildren, Erin (Mike) DiStasi (Regina), Tyler (Jackie) Delgaty (Port Perry, Ontario), and Lisa (David) Cielak Kessous (Cancún, Mexico); and her eight great-grandchildren, Chloe and Ilan (Mexico), Avery, Lincoln and Isabella (Regina), and Gavin, Molly and Mary (Port Perry). She also had numerous cousins nieces and nephews who are spread far and wide.

Lenore's love for her family was the heart of who she was. Her gentle spirit and quiet kindness touched everyone around her, and she made the most of every chance to travel and be close to the people she loved. She had a gift for friendship, never forgot a face or a name, and delighted in a good story and staying close to family life.

She found joy in her home, her flowers, and her garden. She loved to travel, enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, and was a devoted fan of hockey, baseball, and curling, always cheering on her great-grandsons whenever their hockey teams came to play in Saskatoon. Ever curious, she stayed connected through her iPad and computer, kept up with family on Facebook and social media, and followed the news closely each day.

Lenore's family wishes to thank the staff at Royal University Hospital, especially the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, for their skill and compassion in her final hours.

Lenore's wishes were that a small private funeral be held for her. This will take place at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Saskatoon Funeral Home

Lenore will be deeply missed, and always remembered for her kindness, compassion, and warm-hearted spirit.
