It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother. Mom was born in Prince Albert, SK and was raised in Parkside, SK. She later attended LCBI in Outlook, SK for high school.
She met her husband while working in the hotel restaurant in Parkside while he was working for Puirity Dairy driving around the province picking up milk cans to return to Saskatoon. In April 1955 they were married and took over the family farm west of Saskatoon where they started their family. For the next 20 years she stayed at home and raised 6 children, then in the mid 70's she began to drive school bus.
When Dad passed unexpectedly in 1982 she moved to Saskatoon where she worked at Shell Canada and the King George Hotel. Except for a brief time living in Lloydminster, she remained in Saskatoon for rest of her life.
Mom was very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives. Christmas was always a grand event getting everyone together at one time.
For the past 14 years mom resided at Sherbrooke Community Centre where she was loved and cared for by her "extended" family.
Mom was predeceased by parents John and Bertha Tang, husband Bernard, Great granddaughter Mathaya as well as 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
Mom is survived by 1 sister Eileen Huebert, 6 children Ric, Stephen (Brenda), Curtis (Tamara), Candace, Cathy Schuler (Gerald), James (Tess), 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A service to Celebrate Mom's life will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 at Saskatoon Funeral Home at 9:30am.
Interment will follow the lunch at Smithville Cemetery on Highway 14 West (leaving the funeral home approximately at 11:45 am).
