Marie Yvonne Pryor

Marie Yvonne “Yvonne” (née Sparks), of Saskatoon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 18, 2026, at the age of 89. While we grieve her passing, we find solace in knowing she is reunited with her beloved husband and best friend, Richard Pryor — together again for all eternity.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Brenda Pryor; Tom (Bernie) Pryor; Genny Goodyear; and Rick (Nanette) Pryor. She was a cherished grandmother to Heather (Nick) Chandick; Mandy (Kevin) Pryor; Danielle Stiles; Crystal (Julie) Marshall; Nicole Marshall; T.J. Pryor; Derek Stiles; and Ryann Denis Pryor. Yvonne is also lovingly remembered by her 12 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Jeannette Sparks, and her four siblings and son in law Clarence Goodyear.

Yvonne will be remembered as a devoted sports fan, an avid bowler, and a talented knitter. She enjoyed traveling and, above all, treasured spending quality time with her family. She retired after a dedicated career in health care.

A woman of remarkable strength and endless love, she leaves behind a legacy that will live on in all who knew her. She now rests peacefully with God in Heaven, her spirit at peace and her love everlasting.

The Family would like to thank the amazing staff at St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit. The care, attention, love and grace the nurses shared with Yvonne and her family will always be remembered. Their care went far beyond duty – in the most difficult times they brought comfort, kindness, dignity and a light that will forever live in our hearts. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit, for patient comfort attire. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish.
