HAMILTON,
Marion Ladene (nee Scott)
March 8, 1927- January 11, 2025 - (97 years)
It is with sadness that the family of Ladene Hamiliton announce her passing. She will be fondly remembered by those that remain. Ladene was the oldest of the five children born to Douglas and Marion Elizabeth (Lizzie) Scott (nee Bruce). Their mother Lizzie passed away in 1936, at the age of 31 years, which propelled Ladene into the role of substitute parent for the youngest of the children in the years to come. The siblings were a closely knit group growing up, which extended into adulthood.
Ladene excelled academically throughout her life. She was very hard working, conscientious and meticulously organized. While working full time she pursued an accounting degree which led her to her dream job with Price Waterhouse. She spent many satisfying years with the firm, retiring in 1992. She always spoke highly of her coworkers and the professionalism that was exhibited.
In 1962 Ladene married Frank Hamilton. They were together for 58 years. They were long time residents of Saskatoon, but spent significant time at the Hamilton farm in Radisson. They loved the farm and maintained a home out there for many years.
Ladene and Frank loved to travel and, for several years, wintered in Arizona with like minded Canadians. They kept in touch with many of these southern friends over the ensuing years.
Heath issues necessitated the couple moving to Diamond House in Warman, Saskatchewan, in 2019. They appreciated the care and courtesy offered by staff during their time there.
Ladene is survived by her sister, Bernice Fawcett, of Calgary and her brother-in-law, Cliff Robertson, of Red Deer, Alberta, numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces remain. The latter generation have spread out considerably over the years. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2020, her brothers Reginald and Garvin and sister Elleen Robertson.
A Family Service will take place at a later date, as circumstances and travel permit.
Ladene was a strong supporter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan and would have appreciated any tributes being made to that organization.
