Mary Cathcart

Mary Christine Cathcart May 20, 1948 - August 2, 2017 It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Cathcart. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and good friend to many. Survived by her husband of 48 years, Ron Cathcart; daughter Carey (Blair) Derkachenko, children Riley and Tally (Colton); son Doug Cathcart; son Jeff (Teena) Cathcart, children Shanyne and Teegan; brothers Les (Jackie) Mewis; Doug (Lynne) Mewis; in-laws Wayne (BettyAnne) Cathcart; Gail Cathcart, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She lived her early life in the Forgan area, meeting Ron in 1966. Mary and Ron were married August 2, 1969. They spent many years farming in the Perdue area before moving to Saskatoon. Throughout their married life, many fond memories were made at their cabin at Turtle Lake with family and dear friends. In recent years, a portion of their winters were spent in Yuma, AZ, where their circle of friends continued to grow. She had a love for reading, and watching curling. Most of all, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Royal University Hospital Foundation, Saskatoon.
