He is survived by his siblings Sandra Achilles (Alan), Doreen Ramsey (Steve), David Stanton, and Doug Stanton, and was predeceased by his brothers Meyrick and Philip. Michael was a devoted husband to Anne Stanton nee Black (Warnock) of London, Ontario for more than 36 years together.

He was also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He was predeceased by his previous wife, Hazel Stanton; his son-in-law, Robert Hassler; and his step-granddaughter, Billie Sue Boudreau.
Michael worked in agriculture while in Ontario before building a trucking business in Saskatoon, founding Maston Transfer. He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church and remained active in Alcoholics Anonymous for some 48 years.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Oliver Lodge, Palliative Home Care, Hospice at Glengarda, and Dr. K. Roelene for their exceptional care and kindness. He donated his body to the University of Saskatchewan for medical education. His cremated remains will later be interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon.
