In Loving Memory of Michelle Jay McKenzie

May 13, 1964 – July 2, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michelle Jay McKenzie on July 2, 2026, after a courageous six-week battle in hospital. Throughout her illness, Michelle faced every challenge with remarkable strength, grace, and determination. Surrounded by the love of her family and lifelong friends, she passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unconditional love.

Michelle was born in Timmins, Ontario, and spent her early childhood in Selkirk, Manitoba, before moving with her family to the farm near Preeceville, Saskatchewan in 1972. She later completed high school in Yorkton before making Saskatoon her home in 1988.

After studying Medical Terminology, Michelle's plans changed when she was diagnosed with arthritis. Rather than allowing life's obstacles to define her, she chose a new path that would become her life's passion. Inspired by her love of homes, design, and helping people, she earned her real estate license in 1998. Over the next twenty-eight years, Michelle built an outstanding career serving families throughout Saskatoon, Yorkton, Kamsack, Canora, Preeceville, and surrounding communities. Whether helping first-time homebuyers, families searching for their forever home, or clients buying farms and acreages, she approached every relationship with honesty, integrity, professionalism, and genuine care. She often said she loved being a real estate agent, and anyone who knew her knew just how true that was.

Giving back to her community was equally important. Michelle devoted countless hours to volunteering with schools, community organizations, recreation boards, charitable causes, and youth programs. She believed in lifting others up and making a difference wherever she could.

Above all else, Michelle's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family. She loved with her whole heart and would have done anything for the people she loved. Her children and grandchildren were the centre of her world, and she never stopped praying for their happiness, health, and protection. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed, supported, and important.

Michelle will be remembered for her unwavering integrity, generous spirit, infectious sense of humour, and positive outlook on life. She believed laughter truly was the best medicine and often reminded others to "Laugh often, long and loud." She also lived by the words, "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be." Even through life's greatest challenges, she chose gratitude, kindness, forgiveness, and hope.

She loved learning, valued lifelong friendships, cherished her faith, and found comfort in knowing that love and compassion could change someone's day. Her strength, courage, and ability to find joy—even during difficult times—will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Michelle is finally free from pain and at peace. Her love will live on in the lives she touched, the family she adored, and the countless memories she leaves behind.

"Love you."

"Love you more."

"Love you infinity."

Forever and always.
