Mike Slonowski

Mike Slonowski passed away suddenly at home on December 31, 2023.
Mike was born on a farm near Meacham, Saskatchewan on November 12, 1938. He loved hunting and fishing, dancing, playing kaiser, spending time at the lake with family, debating politics and farming. He worked as a journeyman Electrician at Intercontinental Packers Ltd. from January 1969 until he retired in 1997. During his employment, he was active in the UFCW Local 248P Union, serving as Chief Steward and President. In 2003, he sold his farm.
Mike was predeceased by his sister, Emily in infancy; his parents, Alice and Emil; sister, Ann; brothers, John, Nick and Peter. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rita (Mazoka); daughter, Cindy (Darryl); grandchildren, Rebecca Pike (Murray), Jessica Clark-Kabir (Monsur), Darian Clark and Klarisa Harder; as well as four great-grandchildren.
A loving husband, dad and Gid, he will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Saskatoon Funeral Home. (338 4th Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK.)
