Mildred Baillie

On November 14, 2025, with her daughter Shelley and grandson Daniel by her side, Mom passed away peacefully after a brief battle with stomach cancer.

Mom is survived by her daughter Shelley Haider (Randy); grandchildren Daniel, Mathew (Tara), and Jessica; great-granddaughter Brooklyn; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Rodney (1988), her husband Jim (July 2025), her parents Andre and Martha Noete, her brother Raymond Noete, and her sisters Mariette Parker and Carmen Allen.

Born in Unity, Saskatchewan, and raised on the family farm in the Vera area, Mom left home to attend high school at the Academy of Our Lady of Sion in Saskatoon, followed by a year at the Saskatchewan Teacher’s Normal School. She taught for one year in the Moose Jaw area before taking a summer job at the Bank of Montreal—where she discovered her true calling. She remained in banking in Saskatoon until about 1969.

Together with her husband Jim, she founded Transall Express Ltd., where Mom managed all the accounting—often right from the kitchen table.

Mom loved to travel and was fortunate to visit Hawaii, Las Vegas, Yuma, Punta Cana, and make many trips to Vancouver Island.

A devoted Grandma, she rarely missed Daniel and Mathew’s hockey games or tournaments, and she loved watching Jessica in her various sports. She cherished family celebrations, BBQs, meals, and simply visiting with everyone. She especially enjoyed playing board games with her grandchildren. In later years, she took great pride in her yard and delighted in getting her flowers planted every spring.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff on 6200 at the RUH for the excellent care Mom received over the past three weeks.

In accordance with Mildred’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will take place in May 2026, followed by a celebration of life for both Mildred and Jim. Arrangements entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home, 306-244-5577.
