Minnie Ellen Campbell

Minnie Ellen Pihlstrom was born September 30, 1936 in Saskatoon , SK to Axel Edvin Pihlstrom and Ellen Pihlstrom (nee: Abrahamson).  The family moved to Trail BC in June 1937 for 2 years during the depression and then moved back to Saskatchewan in December 1939 where they lived on the homestead along the South Saskatchewan River just south of Broadrick, SK.

Minnie’s first school was Eden Valley, 6 miles away.  She attended there until 1944 and then attended Brockton school, 3 miles from the farm.  The family moved off the farm on July 1, 1947 to a small acreage in south Saskatoon.

Minnie attended Saskatoon public school then attended Sharon Bible School in North Battleford for 1 year.  She participated in the Sharon Church Camp in North Battleford throughout the years.

Minnie worked at the Saskatoon Convalescent Home for several years before she married Clarence James Teichroeb on July 10, 1955.  Minnie and Clarence lived in a few places over the next few years: Avenue J south, Avenue E north and City Park .  They then bought a 3 storey house at 430 6 ^th Street E. in 1958, where they lived for over 20 years.

Dianne Lynn was born in 1957 and Dennis Clarence in 1959.  Clarence died from an automobile accident in 1961.

Minnie married Robert Lawrence Campbell in 1967.  Bradley Lawrence Campbell was born in 1970.

Minnie’s work experience also included Zellers for many years and to make ends meet also took care of boarders. She then worked for home care followed by independent requests for her compassionate service. Her hobbies, which always began with Prayer, included gardening, canning, conversation, cooking and bread making, camping, fishing, serving others, exchanging numerous massages and foot rubs as well as travelling to Taiwan and Boise, ID.  She was a fantastic cook, making many meals to serve to family and friends and spent countless hours on the phone in conversations because of her genuine concern for others.

For many years she kept numerous boarders in her home after Clarence passed; up to 12 at a time.

Minnie had a bright red 1962 Volvo 544 Sport which she drove for 30 years until a hit and run driver totalled it off in 1992.  Her son Dennis discovered the collision when driving by and broke the news to Minnie at work. Many offers to buy her Volvo were left on her windshield throughout the years.

In her youth Minnie had a bit of a mischievous side to her and would play tricks on her siblings and friends.  She had a lot of fun growing up and throughout her life.

Minnie was a very unique and beautiful woman that blessed many. She was described as an endearing and treasured friend who soon after meeting you was hugging you. She was undeniably one of the most Godly woman many have ever known and she witnessed her love for God until her dying breath.

She will be lovingly remembered by: daughter, Dianne (Rob) Doerksen; son, Dennis (Cindy) Teichroeb; son, Brad (Amanda) Campbell; grandchildren, Chantelle (Mike) MacIntyre, Alex (Kalli) Teichroeb and Katie Campbell; great grandchildren, Carlos Doerksen, Kassidy MacIntyre (Brendan Aarrestad), Keegan MacIntyre, Ezra, Zoe, Eliza and Zetta Teichroeb, numerous nieces and nephews as well as her brother Ernie Pihlstrom (Sheila Haubrich) and her sister Hazel Macza.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Clarence Teichroeb and Bob Campbell; parents, Axel and Ellen Pihlstrom; step dad, Garth Hannigan and brother-in-law Al Macza.

A Celebration of Minnie’s life will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 4 ^th Ave North, beginning at 1:30 p.m. with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Viewing will take place prior to the service.
