Niel Sanft Passed a way peacefully at home August 10, 2026 with his family by his side.

Niel was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, a pilot, sailor, beekeeper, biker, hunter, guitar player, fisherman, Freemason , skier, golfer and the forever optimistic Blue Jay fan but most of all, a friend.

Niel loved all animals especially dogs, his Shane, Katey and Roxy, will be waiting for their walks.

We enjoyed many ski trips in Canada and the U.S. and many road trips filled with adventures. Niel loved to drive and drive anywhere…. We were also fortunate to travel to Europe several times where we attended a graduation and wedding returning home with many memories.

My cousin’s daughter said that Niel was such a wonderful man that enjoyed a big interesting life ..… and that he and that he sure did!!

He battled heart failure for several years and never complained, even though he would take one step forward and three back. He just kept waiting for a batter tomorrow and a new adventure just around the bend. Sadly, that was not to be…so, fly high Niel, blue skies and gentle tail winds.

TIL we meet again, rest easy.

As per Niel’s request, there will be no funeral. Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
