Norman Ernest Thomas

THOMAS, Norman Ernest of Saskatoon, SK passed away peacefully January 8, 2018 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Belle Thomas and his sister Beryl Thomas Norman is mourned by Bea, his wife of 64 years, his daughter Brenda (Arnold) Hicks of Hartney, MB, son Bob (Barb) Thomas of Nanaimo, BC, son Ken (Joan) Thomas of Vanscoy SK and his Grandchildren, Matthew Hicks, Fraser Thomas, April (Lu) Roy, Dallas Thomas and Great Grandchildren Travis and Kadence Roy; as well as his brother Howard (Dorene) Thomas, brother in law Gordon Ogilvie, and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. Norm was born on July 5, 1931 and spent the majority of his life on the farm near Vanscoy and later in the village of Vanscoy. In addition to farming, he operated Thomas Air Spray for 20 years. Norm and Bea were deeply involved in calling Square Dancing, teaching Oldtime Pattern Dancing, and both held several offices in the Sask. Flying Farmers. Norm was a long time Master Mason and spent many years on the Board of the Vanscoy United Church and the Vanscoy Community Club in various capacities. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and close friends as often as possible. His well-developed sense of humour was evident in all he did.
