PIDWERBESKI, Orest

Orest Pidwerbeski, a resident of Saskatoon, peacefully passed away at the Royal University Hospital.

Born on April 11, 1942, in the Hafford, Sask District, to parents Ann and Nick Pidwerbeski.

Orest will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his brother, Walter Pidwerbeski, and his nieces and nephews: Deanna Pidwerbeski Kearns (Michael), David Pidwerbeski, Deborah Pidwerbeski Windjack (Gary), Denita Mason (Troyan), along with ten great nieces and nephews.

As an exceptional farmer he retired early, living life to the fullest. Orest was a very proud and devoted uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He was very involved in their younger lives, taking them along for the ride on all his adventures, making every moment memorable.  In his later years, Orest found solace and purpose in his devotion to the Catholic Church, participating in both Ukrainian and Roman rites. He had a thirst for knowledge, constantly seeking to broaden lifelong learning and engaging in various courses. Even at 81, Orest stayed active and vibrant, showing that age was just a number for him. Orest friendships were very dear to him and his presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

My Hand in God’s

Each morning when I wake I say,

“I place my hand in God’s today”;

I know He’ll walk close by my side

My every wandering step to guide.

He leads me with the tenderest care

When paths are dark and I despair

No need for me to understand

If I but hold fast to His hand.

My hand in His! No surer way

To walk in safety through each day.

By His great bounty I am fed;

Warmed by His love, and comforted.

When at day’s end I seek my rest.

And realize how much I am blessed,

My thanks pour out to Him; and then

I place my hand in God’s again.
