Otto Friend

FRIEND, Otto June 12, 1926 – October 30, 2016 Otto passed away on October 30, 2016, at the age of 90 years, 4 ½ months. He was predeceased by his parents; father Julius and mother Natalie ( Ferster); his siblings Ervin, Adele Ireland, Alex, Gertrude Hoehn and Charlotte Schmalz. Otto is survived by his wife Martha (nee Richter) and by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was born at Leask, Saskatchewan, on June 12, 1926. He attended Brightholm Lutheran Church where he was baptized, confirmed and married. He and Martha were married on July 5, 1950. They farmed in the Meadow Grove area for 10 years and then decided to try city life. So, in 1960 the move was made to Saskatoon. Otto worked for Cavel Cartage for a few months and then was employed by Western Caissons where he worked for 26 years.
