With broken hearts, the family of Pamela Renee Prior announce her peaceful passing in the early hours of March 1, 2026, at St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit, with her family by her side, after a short battle with cancer.
Pamela was born on April 16, 1953, in Crosby, Minnesota, to Lorraine and Olger Haugen. She was the fifth of eight children. At the age of 13, Pamela moved to Blaine, Washington. When she was 15, she met the love of her life, Don Prior. They were married on March 8, 1969, and shared 47 wonderful years together before Don’s passing. During those years, they welcomed two children, Russell and Jennifer. In 1974, they moved to Saskatoon, where they built their home and life together.
Pamela worked various jobs over the years, but she spent more than 30 years at Zellers, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Pamela was a hardworking, loving, and devoted wife and mother. She cherished her many friends and could often be found spending hours visiting and catching up. She loved bingo, crafting, and collecting recipes. Above all, she was incredibly proud of her family and all of their accomplishments.
She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her son Russell (Vickie); her daughter Jennifer (Wendell); her four grandchildren, Brendhann, Dustin, Krystale, and Kassanndra; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Theodore, and Elicia. She is also survived by her siblings Judy, Machelle, Rodger, Larry, and Dave, as well as her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends who were like family to her.
Pamela was predeceased by her parents, Lorraine and Olger; her beloved husband, Don; her brother Jerry; her sister Patricia; and her great-grandson Liam.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the comfort and care provided during Pamela’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation or the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 6, 2026, at Saskatoon Funeral Home, 338 Fourth Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, followed by lunch at the Edwards Family Center.
In keeping with Pamela’s wishes, those attending are encouraged to wear spring colours in place of black, although black is also welcome.
