Patricia Ann Sheridan (nee Wright)
26th January 1930 - 26th September 2025
We sadly announce the passing of our wonderful and loving Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma (GG) Patricia on September 26th, 2025. Patricia was born on January 26th, 1930, in a hospital in Unity, Saskatchewan. She was the eldest of three children born to Margaret Estelle (Peg) and Hubert Stanley Wright. As a young child, Patricia lived in Girvin, and Esterhazy Saskatchewan, and Griswold Manitoba, before her parents settled in Broadview, Saskatchewan. Patricia's father, a pharmacist, owned and operated the town's Pharmacy, and Patricia and her family lived above the drugstore. Growing up, Patricia loved skating, curling and playing tennis with her friends and siblings. She also developed her love of cats at this time, as her family always owned at least one cat.
Patricia left home in the fall of 1947 to attend the College of Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan. Over the next four years, Patricia had many adventures, but the best was falling in love with another pharmacy student, Philip Sheridan. They married after graduation and moved to Toronto where they both worked.
Over the next 9 years, Philip and Patricia lived and worked in Toronto, Regina, and Weyburn while raising their three sons and daughter.
In 1960, they moved back to Saskatoon, where Patricia worked first at the McBain and Marshall Pharmacy. After it closed, she worked at the Co-op Pharmacy to support the family while Philip returned to university to study Medicine.
Patricia worked full time until a year after Philip graduated from Medicine. She loved being a pharmacist and continued to work part-time on Wednesday mornings and Saturdays. In 1975, they moved to Edmonton for Philip to take on a new position, and Patricia had to retire as her pharmacy license was not valid in Alberta.
When Dad retired in 1993, Patricia and Philip spent many years wintering at their lovely home in Phoenix, while returning to enjoy beautiful summers in Saskatoon. During these years, Mom became an avid Mahjong player, playing weekly both in Saskatoon and Phoenix. She also very much enjoyed playing golf, and going out to various Casinos. Patricia got the travel bug during this time, and adventured to places like Hawaii, New York, Tokyo, and London, as well as several southern cruises.
In her later years, Mom loved watching curling, baseball, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders on TV with her cat Diva curled by her side.
Mom had an all-encompassing love of family and could be counted on to engage playfully through games like Poker, Rummy, or 31, or simply playing catch.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Philip in 2006.
She is survived by her children: Mark Alexander (Cheryl), David Patrick (Lynn), Pamela Ann (Kenneth), and Philip Alan as well as eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charities Mom always supported: any of the Hospital Foundations, or the SPCA.
