With heavy hearts and profound love we say goodbye to Patrick Robert Clements who passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the age of 80 years in Saskatoon, SK.
Pat is survived and dearly missed by his wife, Barb; his children, daughter Tracey and son Doug (Cathy); his grandchildren, Dylan (Nakaylia), David and Bohdi; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Nolan; as well as his sisters, Donna, Dianna and Betty. He was predeceased by his parents, Percy and Doreen; and his siblings, Sandra Van Horne, Daniel Clements and Joanne Pastor
He was born July 12, 1944 in New Westminster, BC to Percy and Doreen Clements and grew up in Youbou, On July 17, 1965 he and Barb were married in Ladysmith BC at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They settled in Duncan and raised two children and later moved to Surrey, BC, Burlington, ON and Saskatoon. During that time, he worked for Butler Bros. and Crofton Pulp Mill as a sawmill worker, logger, truck driver, equipment operator and a balerman. Pat was Chairman of the Regional Board of Duncan, BC and also served as President of the Crofton Local #2 Pulp and Paper Workers of Canada and as a National Executive Board Member and Wage Delegate. On July 14, 1976 he was elected regional Board Chairman for the Cowichan Valley where he served for five years.
Pat loved hockey, baseball and football following his favorite teams; the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, BC Lions and Toronto Blue Jays. He spent a lot of time in hockey arenas with his son, Doug, and then with his grandson, Dylan. He loved family times, traveling and taking road trips, Christmas holidays and family gatherings playing cards and of course hockey games.
Pat was a devoted family man, and enjoyed spending time with family. His family was his pride and joy. He was always a person you could count on and he never hesitated to help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Sahtlam Firehall in Duncan BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada.
