Patrick "Dean" Kolisnek

May 14, 1968 — November 16, 2025

Patrick Dean Kolisnek, May 14, 1968 - November 16, 2025. Although Dean's legal first name was Patrick, his Grandmother nicknamed him Dino when he was one month old. The name stuck. Thereafter, all his family and friends called him either Dean or Dino.

Dean was always a friendly, caring, approachable and likeable kind of guy and if you were his friend then he was your friend for life. You could always rely on him to be there when called upon. Even through his illness, when he could, he'd help Street People and was very well respected.

Dean started in the Drywall Trade when he was 16. At 18 he ventured out with his own crew. Dean enjoyed working with his hands, the challenge of completing the job, the money he earned but most of all, the pride knowing that the job met all the standard of a job well done. Over the 36 years in the Drywall Trade he was very sucessful in both the housing and the commercial markets and built himself a recognizable trademark of his work ethic and reputation. When Covid hit, his business ended but he continued to work through sub-contracting.

Due to failing health and loss of muscle mass, mobility, and shortness of breath, he was unable to continue in the Trade, and was placed on Disability. Dean spent time in and out of the hospital but unfortunately, it took a toll on his ❤️ and he passed due to heart failure. Thankfully, I spent the last 22 days with My Son, caring for him and Coco, which I will always treasure.

Dean was a fantastic story teller, the way he would make hand gestures. He shared many stories of his youth and his friends. We laughed until we cried. Then cried when he spoke of some of his hurt and sorrows.

Dean leaves to morn his Daughter, Christy (Josh) his Granddaughter, Alex, Mother, Shirley, Nephews and Nieces, Cousins, many Friends but most importantly, His 4 legged Girl Coco.

Due to Dean's wishes, there will be no service. Dean wanted everyone to remember him with laughter, kindness and of the shared memories that were made together.

Dean also made mention that the public and public figures need to be reminded, that not all street people are on the streets because they want to be. They are still human beings and should still be treated with kindness and dignity. Dean has always loved animals. But he absolutely hated bugs and mice. He made sure that none if any, would ever, invade his apartment. Dean also spoke highly of a the "Community Veterinary Outreach Mobility Program". Whom provided much needed services to his Dog Coco. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to this much worthy cause in his memory. Community Veterinary Outreach Mobility Program. Please say that it's for Saskatoon. https://www.vetoutreach.org/donate

Dean will be missed but will be fondly remembered by those that knew him. ❤️❤️
