Paul Peter Prisciak

On January 14, 2018, Dad joined our Mother to continue their dance of love.

Dad passed away peacefully at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon from complications arising from pneumonia.
He immigrated to Canada from Czechoslovakia with his family in l941.  From the farm in Wishart he ventured to Ontario and Alberta - pursuing a professional photography career after enrolling in the Banff School of Fine Arts.  He settled in Saskatoon and met the love of his life while she was working in Regina as a telephone operator. Their long distance courtship ended  in l958 when they married and were blessed with three children - Karen (Vern), Shelley Moore (David) and Adam (Sheryl).

Dad was a natural athlete and passionate about the outdoors.  He taught his children archery, bird and big game hunting, camping, fishing - all skills he honed as a Boy Scott Master.  We all learned to be most alive in wild places.  His careers were as varied as his interests - from photographer to driving instructor to supervising at the School for the Deaf and other provincial government positions.

His favourite times were spent visiting around the campfire either at home or at the lake with his family and extended family. There was always a cup of coffee on the stove.

Once his grandsons - Marik (13) and Lucas (11) - arrived, Dad continued coin collecting for them.  Nothing pleased him more than packages from Nelson enclosing their school achievements.
In their retirement years, Dad and Mom enjoyed pulling their trailer to northern Saskatchewan lakes as well as travels to Mexico, Slovakia and, of course, Nelson to visit Adam's family.  They warmly welcomed siblings, nieces, nephews and their children into their home for enjoyable and appreciated visits.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held at the Saskatoon Funeral Home on Friday April 20 at 1:30 with lunch to follow.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Telemiracle.
