Marchant, Phyllis
1953 - 2025

The family of Phyllis Marchant (nee Herman) is deeply saddened to announce that she passed away peacefully at home in Saskatoon on December 11, 2025, at the age of 72. Born in Nipawin, SK, in October 1953, Phyllis grew up on a farm near White Fox, SK, where she developed her lifelong love of nature and the outdoors. Her fondest memories were of spending summers on the farm, swimming in the river and enjoying the sunshine. After completing high school in Nipawin, she studied social work, and later went on to be a small business owner, opening her own printing business. The happiest years of her career were at SIAST Woodland campus in Prince Albert, where she spent 25 years working as a technician in Printing Services. Phyllis was deeply committed to her family, and, as an excellent cook, she spent many enjoyable hours hosting and participating in family gatherings with her sisters, brother, their spouses, children and her parents. In 1988, she married Reid Marchant, and in 1992 their son Tyler was born. The family enjoyed many hours fishing and boating on northern lakes, and as well as beach days at her sister's cabin. Phyllis is survived by her son Tyler (Victoria), brother Ben Herman (Bernie), sisters Margaret Crellin (Brian) and Deanna Herman, (Daryl Oshanek), ex-husband Reid, nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her parents, George and Sylvia Herman. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2026.
