It is with great sadness that Phyllis Snodgrass passed away at the Royal University Hospital following a long battle with cancer with friends and family at her bedside.

She was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan to William (Bill) and Mary Zuk growing up on the family farm just South of Preeceville and attending Norway and Sturgis Composite High school where she completed grade 12 in 1968. She enrolled in the collage of Nursing in 1968 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1972. She worked for several years as a Registered nurse in various positions in Swift Current and Saskatoon. In 1991 she became an instructor for Home Care/Special Care aide at the SIAST Kelsey Institute now called Saskatchewan Polytechnic. She then ended her long career in nursing as a research nurse at the Department of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. She was a proud member of the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA), Canadian Association of Neuroscience Nurses (CANN) and the Canadian Nurses Association (CAN).

Phyllis married Lowell Snodgrass on October 28, 1972. They moved to Swift Current for work in 1973 and returned to Saskatoon in 1976 with their son Brian. Sons, Mark and Kevin were born in Saskatoon completing their family.

Phyllis loved spending time out-doors whether walking, biking, camping or canoeing. She would walk everyday even in rain, snow, extreme heat or cold. She also loved gardening, she planted a large garden filled with potatoes, carrots, bean, peas as well as lots of flowers. She spent many hours in the garden in the spring and summer when not at one of the many lakes she and Lowell loved camping at. Almost as many hours in the fall canning vegetables, making borscht, jams and jellies.

Phyllis was an active member and leader at Grosvenor Park United Church for over 45 years. She served on several committees including, United Church Women's Group, Congregational Care and Outreach. She also loved playing bridge and would play with several groups in the winter time. For the past several years she loved having coffee time with the extended cousins Irene, Bonnie, Karen. She also had many friends and enjoyed when they would all get together for their birthday celebrations. Phyllis loved to travel which she did, traveling throughout Canada, much of the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, China, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Cuba.

Phyllis was a loving and supportive wife and mother. She loved and was very proud of her sons and their families: Brian; Mark and Randie-Jo (Katie-Lynn and Jeorgia Janae); and Kevin and Sara. She was loved and will be deeply missed by her sons and their families. Phyllis will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-laws, Lind Zuk, Diana Oftebro; Irene (Andy) Heshedahl; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Husband Lowell, parents Bill and Mary Zuk; her brother Wilfred; her parents-in-law Veronica and Cressel.
