Ray Ens

Ray (Roy) Henry Ens February 23, 1941 - September 9, 2017 Ray (Roy) Henry Ens passed away September 9th in the Palliative care unit at St. Paul's Hospital surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ray was born in Prince Albert SK to Henry & Mary Ens. He spent his early years on a farm near McDowell and the remainder of his school years in Warman. After spending some time exploring the country, Ray settled into a job making windows in Saskatoon. Ray had a passion for writing and after retiring was an active member of 2 writing clubs where he won several prizes for his stories and poetry. He also won prizes at the Saskatoon Public Library Senior Writing contests. Ray is predeceased by his parents Henry and Mary Ens; niece Diedra, & brother-in-law Lea Hildebrandt. Ray is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of over 40 years Diane; children Devin, Stephen, and Sandra; sister Vi Hildebrandt; brother Ralph; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Jackie Hill and Georgina Bergen and brother-in-law Bill Mills. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic, Palliative Home Care, and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul's Hospital, who were able to provide comfort to Ray in his last week of life.
