Riley Blacklock passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday May 3rd 2026 in his home in Vanscoy Saskatchewan.

Riley was born February 11th, 1988 in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and grew up on the farm in Grandora. He spent his early years learning about cows with his family and with his peaceful demeanor and he enjoyed the quiet life.

He was enrolled into Vanscoy Elementary where he met a variety of friends. Lifelong and of all shapes and sizes. Their friend group, although a little smaller, is still intact to this day. Riley, enjoying 4H and moving to high school, quickly became the life of the party. He had a lot of fun and he and his friends were always up to something. Good, bad, a bit of both. If you were accompanied by Riley you were in the presence of a kind smile and his iconic, side eyed laugh.

After he graduated in 2006 he completed his Heavy Equipment Operator, he still helped his Dad at the farm but eventually moved onto his own acreage with his best friend. That house became the spot for bonfires and BBQ's. Riley was great on the grill and truly loved to cook for his friends and family. As long as he had a cold beer in his hand.

He eventually bought himself a home in Vanscoy, after landing a new job as the RM guy, driving the grader.

Riley was pre-deceased by his Grandparents: Benson and Alberta Blacklock, Murdock and Elizabeth MacLean, Joyce Richmond; Uncle: Grant Crossman; Cousin: Cord MacLean

A Celebration of Life for Riley will be held Friday May 15,2026, 2:00 pm at the Circle Hall in Vanscoy.
