It is with great sadness that the family of Rina Sthankiya announce her sudden passing on Friday, December 31, 2021 in Saskatoon at the age of 41. Rina was born in the Isle of Sheppey, Kent, England and moved with her family to Canada as a baby, at the age of one.

Rina grew up in Saskatoon and was known for her gentle, kind, and caring nature. She had a passion for travel and spent years exploring different parts of the world with just a backpack and guide book, much like her father, and made many friends along the way.

Rina’s other passion was learning. After finishing high school at Marion M. Graham Collegiate, she attended the University of Saskatchewan, where she completed a B.A. in Sociology. Recently returning as a mature student, she achieved a B.Comm in Business Management in November 2021. Rina also had a keen interest in art, nature, and spirituality.

Rina will be deeply missed by her mother Nina, sisters Cheetal (Alan Carley) and Anita, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her father Uttam Sthankiya.

A private, family Celebration of Rina’s Life will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Prairie View Cremation and Memorial Services.
