Robert Walter Goodyear

February 23, 1927 – November 28, 2019

The family is saddened to announce the passing of R. Walter Goodyear at the age of 92 on November 28, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Doreen; daughter, Linda (Colin) Needham of Peace River, AB.; sons, Douglas (Brenda) Goodyear of Saskatoon, SK. and Barry (Cindy) Goodyear of Wetaskiwin, AB.; grandchildren, Erin Carter (Rick), Sean Needham (Mara) and Tyson Goodyear; great-grandchildren, Allison, Ryan, Griffin, Grayson and Madeleine; and sister, Isabel McCallum.
Walter was born in Keeler, SK. to a railroading family. He continued the family railroading tradition at the age of 17 and retired 42 years later. In 1952 Walter met the love of his life, Doreen Peterson, at the Wynyard Bank of Montreal. They were married for 67 years. Walter and Doreen enjoyed family and friends at their cottage at K.C. Beach, Fishing Lake along with many years of travel.

A Memorial Service will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
