Ronald “Ron” Davidson, born August 27, 1932 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, lived a life rooted in craftsmanship, generosity, and family. He shared 60 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Jean, who predeceased him in 2022, and together they made their home in Saskatoon’s Avalon neighbourhood for 63 years.
Ron is lovingly remembered by his sons, McGregor “Mac” and Patrick “Pat” Davidson, his family, friends and neighbours. He is survived by sisters Myrna and Irma.
For more than 35 years he worked with SaskTel and later SaskTel International, managing projects including work in Tanzania and the Bahamas.
A renowned woodcarver and master woodworker, his knowledge, skill, and quiet good humour made him a sought after teacher and judge at carving competitions and shows across Canada and the US. His intricate, hand-finished pieces were often given as gifts.
Animals were always an important part of lis life, he was the proud grandparent to grand-dog Ben and grand-cat Liza.
He passed peacefully in the care of RUH with family by his side.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ron, to your local animal shelter or SPCA.
