Ronald Diller

July 3, 1950 — May 31, 2025

The family of Ronald Morris Diller would like to announce his passing at the age of 74 due to a fast journey with cancer.

Ron was a man who lived a life of wonderful stories that began July 3, 1950 in Brandon, Manitoba to parents, Andrew and Joyce Diller along with siblings Mildred, Carol and Leon.

When Ron took his first job at Brandon Co-op, he didn't know his life had many great things to come. He married Gail Gradwell in 1970, and children, Jason and Allison followed.

Ron's career would take the family to Winnipeg briefly before expanding further and settling in Saskatoon, where he wasted no time. He became the Manager of Wildwood Mall, much to the joy of his kids who got to "run the mall" when it was closed on Sundays!

From there he opened two locations of "The Coffee Bin". One at Centre Mall and one at Market Mall, being one of the first retailers to introduce iced coffee to Saskatoon.

Aside from career success, he held many other successes with his health, all of which he valiantly overcame. One most notable and special examples would be, in April 2017, Ron suffered an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and was fortunately airlifted from Tisdale and saved by STARS Air Ambulance, becoming the first patient to receive an in-flight ultrasound. It is without a doubt that new technology saved his life, and catapulted Ron into being the biggest STARS advocate you could ever meet.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Andy and Joy; brother, Leon (Brandon, MB); sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Barry Jacks (Calgary, AB).

Surviving and proud of Ron are: his sister, Mildred (Brandon, MB); his dear friend, Gail (Saskatoon, SK.); favourite niece, Sherry Jacks (Calgary, AB).

His children: son, Jason (Linda) and his children, Julianna and Erica, and stepson, Josh (Toronto/Hamilton, ON) Daughter: Allison and her children, Janessa and Quinn (Gabbi), and his 4 besties, his great grandsons: Janessa's boys, Monty and Milo and Quinn's boys, Blake and Gavyn.

At Ron's request, a family service will be held in Manitoba, where he can be reunited with his family.

Thank you to the caring and kind staff of St Paul's Palliative Unit. Any donations can be made in Ron's name to STARS Air Ambulance.
