Rosanne Jones

June 21, 1945 — September 21, 2025

Rosanne Jean Jones, passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2025.

Rosanne was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, to Mary and John Balint on June 21, 1945. The eldest of three children, Rosanne met Barry, her future husband, at a dance in Yorkton, and the two were married in 1970. The couple later moved to Saskatoon, where they would raise two children, Jodi and Michael.

Rosanne took great joy in being with her family. Whether through cooking hearty meals or baking delicious cookies, cakes, and pies, her culinary talents were an extension of the love she had for those in her life. This love even extended to the community, when in later years, she made delectable popcorn treats for the family kettle corn business that were always the first to sell out.

Music was a big part of Rosanne's life. Her tastes ventured from ABBA to Bob Marley, from fiddle to steel drums, and she loved to dance whenever the opportunity presented itself. She was an active supporter of the local arts, keeping season tickets to the Persephone Theatre and remaining eager to check out local crafts and talent.

Her loving and selfless nature meant that she was generous with her time even beyond her family. It was not uncommon for Rosanne to canvass for charitable causes or hand out sandwiches at her local church.

She also carried a distinct love for animals and held a special place in her heart for domesticated pets, as well as wildlife. She maintained a keen interest in birds, her favourite being the snowy owl, though she was often delighted simply by watching the nuthatches and chickadees in her numerous bird feeders.

Alongside her husband, Barry, Rosanne travelled the world, visiting such far-flung locales as Egypt, Trinidad, Indonesia, Australia, and Japan. These new experiences were eye-opening for her, but deep down, Rosanne loved nothing more than being with her family. Her home was her castle. She could always be seen taking fastidious care of her lawn and garden in the summer months and keeping every walkway clear in the winter.

Rosanne was a loyal friend, a devoted wife, and a loving mother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Barry, daughter Jodi and her partner, Ryan Figas (Saskatoon), son Michael and wife, Jennifer Peters (Vancouver), her sister, Joanne (Saskatoon), her brother, Bryan, his wife Lois and their three sons Jonathan, Kelly, and Corey (Calgary).

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 3rd, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Co-Cathedral, 720 Spadina Crescent East, Saskatoon.
