Rose Jean Sayers

Rose Jean Sayers passed away on May 15, 2026, at the age of 78 years.

Rose was born to Thomas and Violet Sayers (nee Brown) in Saskatoon on September 23, 1947. She attended King George School and the Saskatoon Technical Collegiate.

Rose attended St. George's Anglican Church for 60 years, starting with
Sunday school, Junior Choir, then onto Junior Auxiliary, Girls
Auxiliary, and then Women's Auxiliary.

She was an avid bowler in the Ladies Twilight Bowling Leagues at the
King George Bowling alley for many years. She also enjoyed carpet bowling at
Fairfield Seniors Center, Saint John Bosco and St. George's church.

Rose had a love for gardening, embroidery and cross stitch. She enjoyed
watching curling and Blue Jays baseball.

Rose and Violet enjoyed vacations to various areas in B.C., Alberta, Ontario, the Maritimes, California, and the Yukon.

Rose worked for the Lutheran Sunset Home Housekeeping department for 41

years. She was the longest running employee on record when she retired.

Rose took very good care of her mother Violet until her passing in 2005. Rose was also predeceased by her father Thomas in 1966 and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to extend thanks and appreciation to the Home Care
employees who assisted Rose. In particular, aide Desiree and nurse
practitioner Erin.

The family would also like to thank longtime neighbors Russ & Fran, Rae
and the kids, Ryan, and Vi & Leroy and family members Bob Hawthorne and Susan Fowler, for all the assistance to Rose over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

The Funeral Service will be held at Saskatoon Funeral Home on May 23, 2026 starting at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home, 306-244-5577.
