Rose Marie Sturm, lovingly known as Rosie, Mom, Grandma, Aunty Rosie, and Aunty Grandma Rosie, passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on August 15, 2024, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Born on February 8, 1957, in Calgary, Alberta, Rose was the beloved daughter of Hans and Emma Jubelius.
Rose's life was filled with faith, love, and service. She married the love of her life, John Sturm, on September 23, 1973. At the tender age of nine, Rose received her Holy Sealing and confirmed her faith in 1972. In 1976, Rose and John moved to Saskatoon to establish a New Apostolic Church mission that began with just two souls and has since flourished into a thriving community of hundreds.
Rose is now reunited with her father Hans (d. 1968), mother Emma (d. 2006), brother Roalf (d. 1996), her unborn daughter Stephanie (1975), and her grandchildren Christopher (d. 2005) and Abriella (d. 2010). She leaves behind her devoted husband of 51 years, John Sturm; her children Jonathan (Julie) Sturm and Charmaine (Des) Hameluck; her beloved grandchildren Benjamin, Megan, Grace, and Natalie; her siblings Helmut Jubelius and Susan Jubelius; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, in-laws, her spiritual family, and dear friends.
Rose's heart was full of love and passion for her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, her family, and her cherished grandchildren. Her passions extended beyond her family to her spiritual community, where she found joy in missionary work, teaching English classes, and volunteering. Rose was a gifted musician, sharing her talents as a choir member, director, clarinetist, and organist. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, driven by her deep desire to serve others. Rose loved her dog Rocky, Pepsi, and copious amounts of delicious milk chocolate.
A celebration of Rose's life and Divine Service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 325 Camponi Place, Saskatoon. A time of fellowship will follow the service. All from the public are welcome to attend.
In her final days, Rose expressed that she felt truly blessed and grateful for the beautiful life she had lived. Her parting words were of thanks-to God and to everyone who walked this journey with her. Rose's legacy of faith, love, humor, energy, passion, generosity, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
