Ruth Magdalin

1924 — September 12, 2018

Magdalin, Ruth
April 29, 1924 – September 12, 2018

Ruth passed away peacefully on September 12, 2018 at the age of 94 after a brief stay at Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2001 after nearly 50 years of marriage. Her parents Frank and Ivy and siblings Norman, Rod, Iris, Frank and Miles also predeceased her. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children Bill (Debbie), Bob (Shelley), and grandchildren Billy, Stephen, Jeffrey, Christopher and great-grandson Joshua. Ruth is also survived by sisters Audrey, Roberta, Jean and Winnie as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The importance of family was a value that mom held very close to her heart and she was always willing to help in the time of someone else’s need. Our mother was kind, loving, compassionate, forgiving, hardworking and full of advice. For a number of years, mom operated a neighbourhood grocery store, Ann’s Grocery, that her and her husband owned. After selling the business, she transitioned into Real Estate as an agent, which she worked at until retirement. She was an avid bowler into her 80’s until health issues forced her to quit the game she loved. She enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Blue Jays, curling, and was always ready for a game of cribbage. A private graveside service with Sue Panattoni as celebrant will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on September 19th. A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations on Ruth’s behalf may be made to STARS Ambulance or a charity of choice.
