It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Ryan Cody McHugh "Mc Krate" on November 20, 2024, at the age of 44. Ryan left this world too soon, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, and an unwavering spirit of love that touched everyone who knew him.
Ryan was a devoted father, a proud supporter of his two beloved sons, Brendan and Aaden, who were the absolute pride and joy of his life. Without exception, Ryan beamed when speaking of Aaden and Brendan, sharing stories of their pursuits and ambitions with a gleam in his eyes and confidence in his voice.
Ryan was affectionately nicknamed "McKrate" by his grandmother Pauline Pelly and his family followed suit. Ryan embraced life with enthusiasm and humour, as a child he idolized Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris, never shy to demonstrate his karate skills to delighted family members. These moments showcased the playful and endearing side of Ryan that his loved ones and friends cherished.
Ryan was also a passionate Philadelphia Flyers fan, always rooting for his favorite team. His dedication extended beyond sports to his work, where he supported vulnerable individuals through his role at The Light House supportive living. Ryan's empathy and commitment left a lasting impact on those he served, embodying the kindness and hope he carried in every aspect of his life.
Those who knew Ryan will forever remember his warmth and the sense of encouragement he brought to every conversation. He had a rare ability to uplift others, offering wisdom and insight that felt as though it came from an old soul. His continual display of affection, hope, and enthusiasm was a source of light for his family and friends.
Ryan was predeceased by his beloved grandfather Joseph Pelly, and grandmother Pauline Pelly, his father Ronald (Punky) McHugh Sr, Sister Krista Pearl McHugh and nephew Tyler Shane Jacko.
Ryan is survived by his mother Judy Pelly, his cherished sons, Brendan McHugh (21) and Aaden McHugh (15), the mother of his children Lisa McHugh; his devoted siblings, Travis Pelly (Evelyn Lopina) and Ronald McHugh Jr, Chantel McHugh. Ryan is also survived by a large extended family as well as his dear friends.
Family, friends, and all who were touched by Ryan's kindness are welcome to gather, share memories, and honor his extraordinary spirit.
Ryan "McKrate" Pelly will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his spirit inspire us to live with the same affection, hope, and enthusiasm that he so effortlessly embodied.
The Wake for Ryan will start at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the Ramada Inn, 806 Idylwyld Dr N, Saskatoon. Followed by the service starting at 9 AM, Sunday, November 24, 2024 also at the Ramada Inn.
